ITINERARY

Day 1: Arrive in Auckland

Upon arrival Self drive clients will pick up the rental car from the airport and drive to your hotel.

Overnight at hotel.

Day 2: Auckland morning sightseeing

This morning, self drive passengers enjoy your local sightseeing; Today see firsthand why Auckland is regarded as one of the best cities in the world to live in, as you enjoy this half day tour around the central city and picturesque suburbs. Journey begins with a short trip over the Harbour Bridge to the North Shore before returning to the central city to visit Queen St and the Auckland Viaduct. You will then drive along the scenic waterfront route of Tamaki Drive to the Michael Joseph Savage Memorial Park, in Mission Bay. A memorial to the first Labour Prime Minister of New Zealand and the founder of the welfare state. Michael Joseph Savage Memorial Park has panoramic views over Whenua Rangatira, Auckland city and Waitemata Harbour. This park is a popular wedding and tourist venue, with formal gardens and perfect venue for flying a fabulous array of colourful and creative kites. Then return to downtown Auckland. Highlights: Harbour Bridge, Viaduct Harbour, Queen Street, Auckland Domain, Tamaki Drive, Michael Savage Memorial.

Afternoon at leisure to do the optional activities like; Sky Tower, Sky Walk, Harbour cruise, Bungy etc (not included).  Overnight at hotel. (B)

Day 3: Auckland – Hamilton

After breakfast check out from the hotel & drive to Hamilton. On arrival, relax in the hotel room or you have an option to visit Hamilton Garden; a sprawling public park, features elaborate themed gardens ranging from Italian Renaissance to Japanese and traditional Maori styles.  Overnight at hotel. (B)

Day 4: Hamilton to Rotorua via Waitomo

Travel to Rotorua ‘Thermal City’ of Rotorua via Waitomo cave; your guided tour will take you through over 250 metres of stunning underground scenery commencing with the impressive Cathedral. The acoustics in this particular cavern are world-renowned. Acclaimed New Zealand Diva, Dame Kiri Te Kanawa, has sung here and was delighted with the purity of the sound. Your tour begins at the upper entrance of the cave and proceeds along a low narrow passage to the Tomo, a deep limestone shaft. Your experienced tour guide will deliver a highly informative commentary about the formations and the history of the area. The highlight of your tour is an unrivalled boat trip through the spectacular Glowworm Grotto.

Evening you have an option to release in the Spa (not included). Overnight at hotel (B)

Day 5: Rotorua

Today enjoy the Rotorua morning sightseeing; you’ll proceed to AGRODOME to witness the Agrodome Agricultural Show, where you will be entertained by New Zealand's performing sheep and other attractions. Later proceed to visit TE-PUIA thermal village known for its hot springs, geysers and boiling mud pools. Watch the Maori craftsmen and learn about the traditional arts of carving and weaving and RAINBOW SPRINGS to see the flower and fauna of New Zealand.

Afternoon you have an option to do few activities like; Mud bath, Gondola, Luge ride, Rafting, Jet ride, Volcanic air safari etc. Overnight at hotel (B)

Day 6: Rotorua toAbel Tasman viaNelson

After breakfast drive to the Rotorua airport and drop off your rental car; board the flight to Nelson (not included). On arrival at Nelson airport, make your way to the rental car branch at the Airport to complete hiring formalities and pick up your rental car. Afternoon drive to Abel Tasman; Abel Tasman National Park is a New Zealand national park located between Golden Bay and Tasman Bay at the north end of the South Island. Overnight at hotel (B)

Day 7: Abel Tasman 

Today you have day free for leisure. Relax on the beach or enjoy optional activities like; Kayak, Sky dive etc. Overnight at hotel (B)

Day 8: Abel Tasman to Hokitika

This morning drive to Hokitika; is a township in the West Coast region of New Zealand's South Island, 40 kilometres south of Greymouth, and close to the mouth of the Hokitika River.

Hokitika has great bars, cafes and restaurants in town with local delicacies and good coffee on offer. Stay night at hotel. (B)

Day 9: Hokitika to Wanaka   

Drive to Wanaka, a resort town on New Zealand's South Island, is set on the southern end of its namesake lake with views of snowcapped mountains. It's the gateway to the Southern Alps' Mount Aspiring National Park, a wilderness of glaciers, beech forests and alpine lakes. Overnight at hotel. (B)

Day 10: Wanaka   

After breakfast, enjoy you free day by doing some optional activities like; Fly plane, Puzzling world, Sky dive, Kayak etc.  

Afternoon relax on the lake or take a long walk.Overnight at hotel. (B)

Day 11: Wanaka to Te Anau

This morning drive to Te Anau, is a town in the Southland region of the South Island of New Zealand. It is on the eastern shore of Lake Te Anau in Fiordland. Lake Te Anau is the largest lake in the South Island and second only within New Zealand to Lake Taupo. Stay overnight at hotel. (B)

Day 12: Te Anau to Milford – Queenstown

After breakfast, travel to Milford Sound. The road to Milford Sound is one of the world's finest drives.

We offer the ideal Milford Sound small boat experience, personal, friendly and uncrowded. During our Milford Sound scenic cruises, you'll marvel at Mitre Peak and feel the spray of Fairy and Sterling waterfalls on your face as you take in the Fiordland scenery.

Afternoon proceed toward Queenstown; sits on the shore of the South Island’s Lake Wakatipu, set against the dramatic Southern Alps. The surrounding Central Otago region is known for its Pinot Noir and Chardonnay vineyards, and for adventure sports.

Day 13: Queenstown

Today you may choose to travel around Queenstown and visit many of the city's highlights including Lake Hayes, AJ Hackett Bungy Bridge, HistoricArrowtown& Edith Cavell Bridge(activities not included). Overnight at hotel.  

Day 14: Queenstown

Today you have day free for leisure; enjoy optional activities like Gondola, Shotover jet, Bungy, Rafting, heli ride, Spa etc. Overnight at hotel.  

Day 15: Queenstown to Christchurch

Departing Queenstown in the morning travel through ruggedly beautiful landscape and over the Lindis Pass into the Mackenzie Country. Continue through the diverse farmland to the Canterbury Plains to Christchurch where the journey concludes. Highlights: Lindis Pass, Mackenzie Country scenery, drive past Aoraki / Mount Cook, Lake Pukaki, Lake Tekapo - a stunning glacial-fed lake, Geraldine, Canterbury Plains. Overnight in hotel. (B)

Day 16: Christchurch

Today travel around Christchurch covering the central city highlights including the botanical gardens, Museum and Art Centre, the Avon river, Bridge of Remembrance, the cities new pop up container mall and many other CBD highlights.  (Entry Costs to Attractions, where applicable, is Not Included).

Afternoon you have day free for optional activities like; Punting, Tarm, Gondola, Antarctic center etc (not included).

Overnight in hotel. (B)

Day 17: Departure day

After breakfast Self-drive customers will travel their rental car, drop the car at airport branch and board your flight for onward journey (flight not included)
